On Saturday April 15, 2017 the first day of 56th edition of All Japan Race Walking Meeting in Wajima was held in Japan.
Men 10km
Takumi Saito (JPN), who was 6th in World Championships in Moscow 2013, won the first place with the time of 40:59, after passing at half race in 20:14 and covering second part of the race in 20:45.
Second place to Kazuki Takahashi (JAP) in 41:30 (20:33 + 20:57).
Third place to Yuto Oshima (JAP) in 41:43 (20:25 + 20:58).
In this race 51 walkers were at the start line; 45 finished the race and 6 were DQ.

Women 10km
Chiaki Asada (JPN) won the first place with the time of 46:07, after passing at half race in 22.42 and covering second part of the race in 23:25.
Second place to Sae Matsumoto (JPN) in 46:24 (22:44 + 23:40).
Third place to Rena Goto (JPN) in 46:52 (22:46 + 24:06).
In this race 18 walkers were at the start line: 17 finished the race and 1 was DQ.

U20 10km events
Men
The winner was Sho Sakazaki (JPN) with the time of 42:00 (20:45 + 21:15).
Second place to Yuu Takeuchi (JPN) with the time of 42:20 (20:45 + 21:35).
Third place to Hiroto Jusho (JPN) with the time of 42:28 (20:53 + 21:55).
Forty-three athletes at the start; 41 finished, 1 DQ, and 1 DNF.
Women
The winner was Yu Yoshida (JPN) with the time of 48:22 (23:30 + 24:52).
Second place to Shion Honma (JPN) with the time of 48:58 (23:57 + 25:01).
Third place to Maika Yagu (JPN) with the time of 49:17 (24:13 + 25:04).
Twenty-two walkers at the start and all of them finished.
Tomorrow April 16, the second day, with the 101st JAAF National Championship of Men 50km walk, with Takayuki Tanii and Hirooki Arai favorites.
This race will be held as a trial for London World Championships this summer.
