And so this year La Coruna opens to the popular walk!

The past edition (the thirtieth) was that of a photographic exhibition and a press conference to honor the date, and that it had decided to dedicate the competition to its creator Sergio Vasques, the former president of the Federacion Gallega de Atletismo, a very close friend of Italians moving in the race walking world circles and Maurizio Damilano in particular.

This year the Federacion Galega de Atletismo with its president Isidoro Hornillos Baz and his general secretary Dolores Rojas Suarez decided to match the “Cantones de La Coruna Sergio Vasques” with a popular fit-walk on the distance of 2km (two laps of the circuit of Cantones ).

The event is open to all, with no age limit and with only one condition: it is "not run".

Those who participate will be able to do so, strolling or “walking" according to the rules that will then follow elite athletes.

The entry costs € 5 which will be donated by the Federation Galega de Atletismo to "Cocina Economica" founded on May 1, 1886, a no-profit organization that offers a social service such as lunch and dinner to the less wealthy people all day of the year.
