In women, Ana Cabecinha (POR) and Ines Heriques (POR), along with Erica Rocha de Sena (BRA) and Mirna Ortiz (GUA), are among the "aficionadas" of La Curuna.
Large is Spain's participation and we will assist to the re-match between Julia Takacs (ESP), absent from Podebrady and other Spanish athletes who at Podebrady have won the European Cup in 20km.
They are joined by Far East: Wang Yingliu (CHN) who has a time to fight with the first for victory and the young Ma Zhenxia (CHN), world champion U20 at Bydgoszcz 2016. From Japan there will be Chiaki Asada (JPN) and Rena Goto (JPN), while from the far Oceania there should be Alana Barber (NZL) and Rachel Tallent (AUS).
Another interesting presence is that of Emilie Menuet (FRA) who here in La Coruna on May 28, 2016 has established her personal best in 1:31:38 and she will certainly want to improve even dreaming about 1:30:00.
The Italian presence is also unusual:
- Adelaide Sansoni (1982) arrived on race walk a few years ago and this year got Cassino on March 26, 2017 her personal best of 1:40:25
- Diana Cacciotti (1995) with a personal best of 1:44:08 obtained in Catania on January 31, 2016
- Eleonora Dominici (1996) with a personal best of 1:38:22 obtained in Cassino on March 20, 2016
For all the goal is to give a good scissor jump to the personal best.
