A group of nine athletes is formed immediately, including the Italian Leonardo dei Tos who is heading the group together with the Turks, Salih Korkmaz and Serkan Dogan.

A group of three athletes is formed: Leonardo Dei Tos, Dawid Tomala and Yauheni Zalesski as the Turkish seems to have lost the original shine.
At half race lead Leonardo dei Tos (ITA) and Dawid Tomale (POL), followed by a dozen meters from Yauheni Zalesski (BLR).
