14/06/2017   Huelva (ESP): Laura Garcia-Caro world leader in 3.000m track walk

The 3.000m track on women track is a distance that does not take place so often outside the indoor world, but is a distance well suited to an outdoor meeting.

Last night in Huelva (ESP) at the XIII Iberoamerican Meeting two of Spain's possible participants at the London 2017 World Championships challenged along with six other athletes.
The primary goal was probably to beat the record of the meeting that belonged to Julia Takacs (ESP) and set on June 12, 2014 with a time of 12:11.27; The secondary one was the worldwide seasonal leadership on the distance that belonged to Emilie Menuet (FRA) in 12:35.62 and established in Blois (FRA) on 7.5.2017.

Laura Garcia-Caro (ESP) immediately starte with a very fast pace with the intention of getting the two goals outlined above.
A first 1000m on the pace of 4:06.26 followed by a second incredible 1.000m (3:57.06) led the Spanish U23 to the pass at 8:03.32 on the pace in the absolute Spanish best performance on the distance.
The pace in the last 1000m has dropped slightly (4:12.78) to end at 12:16.10. Both goals have been achieved.

Second place to Ainoha Pinedo (ESP) in 12:36.83
Third place to Irene Montejo (ESP) in 14:07.59
