26/06/2017   Trikala (GRE): Greek U18 Championships 2017






Last weekend, in Trikaka, a city 350km north of Athens, in the center of Greece, took place the Greek national championships for U18 (boys and girls).

The day was not easy for the athletes: the temperature was very hot (around 36°C) and the very high humidity (80%).

To try to overcome this inconvenience, the races took place at the following time:

- that of the 5,000m track walk: Saturday evening at 21:30

- that of the 10,000m track walk: Sunday morning at 8:00

Victory to Kiriaki Filitsakou (GRE) in 24:41.06

Second place to Maria Seferiadi (GRE) in 25:21.31

Third place to Olga Fiaska (GRE) in 25:47.96 representing the new personal best (previous of 25:49.65 established on June 25, 2016 at Trikala at U18 Championships in 2016)

 

Nineteen athletes at the start of which 17 finished the race, 1 DNF and 1 DQ

Victory to Themistoklis Tsarouchas (GRE) in 47:35.17

For this young athlete of 2000 this time is the new personal best that down to almost 4 'the previous result of 51:18.44 established on June 26, 2016 always in Trikala at the U18 Championships in 2016).

Second place to Anthimos Kelepouris (GRE) in 48:11.84

Third place to Anastasios Stamos (GRE) in 48:23.29
