The fight for victory in the eve of the race was restricted to three athletes: Julia Takacs (ESP), Lidia Sanchez-Puebla (ESP) and Amanda Cano (ESP).

Also in the men's competition, the fight for victory (and medals) was restricted to three: Alvaro Martin (ESP), Luis Alberto Amezcua (ESP) and Miguel Angel Lopez (ESP).

Even in this case no prediction was more perfect.

After the first 1000m led by Alvaro Martin (ESP) in 3:57.85 passes to head Miguel Angel Lopez (ESP) at 2.000m in 7:58.88.
