24/07/2017   Trujillo (ECU): Alexander Hurtado (ECU) and Alegna González (MEX) won U20 Pan-American Championships






This weekend was held in Trujillo, Peru, at Chan Chan Stadium, the XIX Pan-American U20 Championship of Athletics with the two race walk events that took place on the distance of 10,000m track.

 
 
10,000m track walk U20 men
 
The victory went to the favorite of the race, Alexander David Hurtado (ECU) with the time of 40:37.64.
Second place to Andres Eduardo Olivas (MEX) with a time of 40:45.31
Third place to Jhonathan Javier Amores (ECU) with time 42:03.53
 
Ten athletes at the start of which seven have completed the race and 3 DQ

The victory went to Alegna Gonzalez (MEX) with the time of 44:43.89 establishing the new record of the Pan American U20 (previous to 47:05.11 by Stefany Coronado, BOL obtained in Edmonton, CAN in 2015)
Second place to Maria Fernanda Montoya (COL) with a time of 45:52.92
Third place to Evelyn Inga Huaynalaya (PER) with a time of 47:18.71, after being stopped in the Pit Lane area
 
Twelve athletes at the start and all completed the race.
