Matej Toth's statement appeared on the evening of 15 August 2017 on the website of the Slovak Athletics Federation.

I am announcing to the media and the public that today, on August 15, 2017, I was interviewed by members of the Disciplinary Board of the Slovak Athletic Union (DK SAZ) in the case of allegations of anti-doping rule violations on the basis of discrepancies in the biological passport.

Since DK SAZ has not taken a final decision and the case is still being investigated, I can not yet clarify all the details of the case. But on the basis of the information I have already received, I can confirm that today I have submitted to DK SAZ arguments on my defense, which professionally and clearly explain the reason for the deviation in my biological passport and reject any suspicion of the use of banned substances or methods.

For interest: The file with our arguments contained 25 attachments, 250 pages, 7 expert opinions from hematology and metabolomics experts from 6 countries of the world. In order to prove my innocence, even after this extensive argumentation and detailed examinations I have already completed, I am ready to undergo further medical tests and analysis - if required by DK SAZ, the International Association of Athletic Federations (IAAF) or the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) ).

I repeat that IAAF and WADA, despite a number of anti-doping tests (more than one hundred my career), have never found any forbidden substance. All accusations against my person have arisen only on the basis of statistical discrepancies that do not take into account my individual variability and the circumstances that preceded it.

I would like to thank all those who have contributed to my strong advocacy and expertise and also to my family, fans, sponsors and all others who support and trust me in this difficult period.

I believe my name will be cleansed.
