Started in Kuala Lumpur (MAS) the 29th edition Sea Games. 
 
These games are part of the South East Asian Countries that face the sea, and it is not difficult to think of the races that took place today in the first day were certainly not of a very high standard.
 
However, it remains an international event of interest to those Countries.
 
 
20,000m track walk men
 
 
Only nine athletes at the start: two from Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam, one from Indonesia, Myanmar and Singapore.
 
Victory to Hendro (INA) with the time of 1:32:11 new national record of the Inddonesia on track distance. The Indonesian athlete, however, has a performance on road of 1:27: 24 established in Nomi (JPN) on March 20, 2016 at the annual 20km Asian Road Walk Championships.
Second place to Lo Choon Sieng (MAS) with the time of 1:32:28, new Malaysian national record on track distance.
Third place for M Khairil Hartith H (MAS) with time of 1:34:04.
 
All nine athletes completed the race.
 
 
10,000m track walk women
 
 
There are only six athletes at the start: two of Malaysia and Vietnam, one of Thailand and Myanmar.
 
Victory to Elena Goh Ling Wing (MAS) with time 52:21.50. The Malaysian athlete however has a personal best on the distance of 51:42:42 established in Lumut (MAS) on April 16, .2017.
Second place for Bich Ha Phan Ti (VIE) with time 52:27.78 performance representing the new athlete's personal best (previous of 53:22.48 established at Ho Chi Minh (VIE) on August 18, 2012.
Third place for Tanaphon Assawawongcharoen (THA) with time of 53:17.10.
