In Stockholm, during the classic Finnkampen athletics match between Finland and Sweden national teams Perseus Kartstrom (SWE) with time of 38:57.45 erased Sweden's historic record on the distance of 10,000m track walk, which belonged to Stefan Johannsson.
The previous record of 39:02.10 had been established at Örnsköldsvik (SWE) and resisted from July 8, 1995.
After the disappointment of the London World Championships where he had only reached 37th, while he was among the best in attendance, the 27-year-old of Eskilstuna got national short-term revenge on the shortest distance.
"I'm sick satisfied, I've been looking for this record for a while" said Perseus Karlstrom, "but you have to have a good time when the shape is nice and with good grows, it does a lot"
With this result, Perseus Karstrom takes second place in the World 2017 season list on this distance, in front of Francesco Fortunato (ITA) and behind Dane Bird-Smith (AUS)
