23/09/2017   Osaka (JPN): Great results in 10.000m track walk






The 65th Inter-Corporate Championships of Japan were held today in Osaka with the two race walk events.

 

 

10.000m. track walk men

 

Great race and great results at Nagai Stadium.

 

The victory went to Eiki Takahashi, coached by Shigeyuki Shimizu, with the beautiful clock of 38:56.90 which is currently the second world performance of 2017.

Second place to Daisuke Matsunaga in 39:03.25, fourth world performance of the year.

Third place was Kai Kobayashi in 39:06.86 (new personal best, previous 39:27.90 obtained in Saitama, JPN on May 17, 2014)

 

Also the fourth athlete, Isamu Fujisawa, managed to break the 40:00 wall finishing the race in 39:33.77

There are two athletes behind the standard of 41:00.00: Satoshi Maruo (40:46.51) and Takayuki Tanii (40:51.79)

10.000m. track walk women

 

A surprise has been the victory of Sae Matsumoto with time of 45:59.41 representing the new personal best of the athlete (previous of 46:07.59 obtained in Nagasaki, JPN on Oct. 21, 2014).

 

Second place to Nozomi Okazaki in 46:36.99 also for her personal best (previous of 47:47.55 obtained in Osaka, JPN on Sep. 24, 2016, in the last year's edition of the same Inter-Corporate Championships in Japan).

Third place to Ai Michiguchi in 47:46.11.

 

Only six athletes at the start, and surprisingly was disqualified the seasonal leader of Japan (and Asia) on track distance, Kumiko Okada, who in Abashiri, JPN on Jul. 13, 2017 had stopped the clock in 44:50.80.
