Today, took place in Chiasso (SUI) the traditional 20km race "Chiasso in marcia" for the organization of Marie Polli and SAL Lugano Marcia.
Marie Polli had done all well for this 13th edition, also organizing for Tesserete a Round Table on "A B C of race walk" with Pietro Pastorini, who unfortunately had been canceled for lack of participants.
20km men
The presence of two strong Italian athletes made the forecast easy enough, even in the presence of a "up and down" course on the 1km circuit of the Swiss border city.
All was made even easier after disqualification of the titled Andriy Kovenko (UKR).
The difficulty was to see who the two of Marco De Luca, the most titled, or Leonardo Dei Tos, the emerging, would have been able to get the better of the other.
To win the race was Leonardo Dei Tos (ITA) in 1:26:08, time just telling how the athletes approached the race: little more than a training for the 25 year old Venetian.
Second place, with 34 seconds of detachment, to Marco De Luca (ITA) (1:26:42).
The two have walked together for most of the race and only in the final part Leonardo Dei Tos forced the pace and marks what will be the decisive stretch.
Third place for Miroslav Uradnik (SWK) (1.28: 34) in front of Stefano Chiesa (ITA), fourth in 1U29: 36, fiftth Pietro Zabbeni (ITA) (1:32:11) and sixth Alberto Zaupa (ITA) in 1:32:15.
For the record Patrick Gavillet (SUI) won the Swiss Champion title on 20km road in 1:59:22.

Most attending athletes had opted for the 10km choice.
