Sunday morning on Grottammare (AP) seafront will take place the fourth and last test of the Italian Club Championships of race walk.

The Club Championship will take place on the following distances:
- 20km for senior, U23 and U20 categories both men and women
- 10km for the U18 category both boys and girls
But the mosto important race should be that of the 50km that is also valid for the assignment of the Italian Champion title.
About this race we would like to point out that after years of Scanzorosciate and Villa di Serio, we will again be in Italy to open an open race for women: she assured her presence Maria Dolores Marcos Valero (ESP) who last 23 April 2017 Naumburg (GER) had been able to score 4:48.26, placing now at the 13th position in the women's World list this year.
The star of the day should, however, be the tireless Perseus Karlstrom (SWE) bronze at the 2017 Europan Cup in Podebrady (CZE), which is enrolled after the authorization received by Fidal to the 20km men in which he had this year a season best of 1:20:20 established at La Coruna (ESP) on June 3, 2017.
Last week Karlstrom competed 50km in Eskilstuna (SWE) by winning the 50km Swedish Championships in 4:20:42, far away from his personal best of 3:53:43 (always established at Eskilstuna, SWE on Oct. 5, 2013).
We talked about his tirelessness and in fact Karlstrom had also won the first stage in the four days of Around Taihu in China (20km in 1:24:19) where he presented himself as one of the candidates for the final victory; unfortunately an intestinal infection after the first day bars his chances of success and fished in the 19th position.
The Italians
The entry list is interesting, except that of the 50km participants.
The choice to make the 50km race at the end of the season did not produce the expected results since the entry Italians are only four, to which a three foreign athletes (two man and a woman, Maria Dolores Marcos Valero) are added.
The 50km women see the only entry by Laura Civiletti.
20km men and women
- In the men there are 26 entered athletes, including the names of Federico Tontodonati, Marco De Luca, Francesco Fortunato and Leonardo Dei Tos, who will be the main opponents of Perseus Karlstrom (SWE). A very interesting race is also announced with the goal of Italian athletes to improve their personal best.
- There are 12 entries in the women's competition, including Valentina Trapletti, Nicole Colombi and Tatyana Gabellone. Particularly for the latter two will be the redemption opportunity after the recent Chiasso DQ for the first and Agropoli (reg. 163.3) for the second. Another athlete of interest is Adelaide Sansoni.
20km U20 men and women
- There are 20 entered in men, including among others Giacomo Brandi, who should be the favored favorite of the race.
- there are 14 entered in women, among them are the names of the twin sisters Angelica and Anthea Mirabello, whose accreditation time are very low than the other participants.
10km U18 boys and girls
- there are 14 entered athletes in boys. The race should live in the duel between Riccardo Orsoni (road accreditation time: 43:15) and Davide Finocchietti (road accreditation time: 44:38).
On track the performance situation is reversed: the best is Davide Finocchietti (44:05.95) while Riccardo Orsoni has a performance of 44:15.43.
- in women there are 25 entered girls. The favors go to Anrada Lavinia Lacatus, but she has four strong opponents in Alessia Mastronicola, Ida Mastrangelo, Alessandra Lentini and Sara Buglisi.
