13/10/2017   Yang Shuqing (CHN) the hardworking of 50km

The double world record of Ines Henriques (Porto de Mos and London) opens up new horizons about the future possibilities we will probably witness in the years to come.

But, in the 2017 ranking, we focused on what may seem like a madness, but instead it is a reality.
Four 50km in 164 days, one averaged 50km every 41 days.

Everything started on March 5, 2017 in Huangshan (CHN) for Yang Shuqing (CHN) (born August 30, 1996) when she arrived second to her first 50km in 4:27:24, behind teammate Yin Hang (4:22:22).
Yang Shuqing then continued, almost as delighted to compete in this distance.
On May 22nd, 2014 (78 days after his first 50km) returns to race at Zhengzhou (CHN) and ends in 4:43:01.
It seemed to have dared too much.

But obviously it wasn't.
Yang Shuqing impresses us even more on June 18, 2017 (27 days after Zhengzhou) when she comes to the start in Xi'an, famous for the Terracotta Warriors, and as a warrior she won in 4:38:56.
At this point it could have been argued that however the times obtained after Huangshan are far superior to the first, and their value is quite insignificant.
But the 21-year-old Chinese in force of the IAAF's opening offer to women (4:30:00) to take part in the 50km of London's World Championships, is at the start of the Mall line.

She ends third, at 4:20:49, breaking nearly seven minutes for Huangshan time, but above all for more than 18 minutes the time obtained 56 days earlier in Xi'an.

A few days after the first world record of Ines Henriques at Porto de Mos, Sandro Damilano, who was interviewed for us, had predicted that women could have reached the first performane less  4:00:00 fast enough.
Today, in the light of these results, but above all the unexpressed potential of women, this seems less a dream.

That 2018 is the year good?
