15/11/2017   Colombia hosts the XVIII edition of Bolivarian Games






The XVIII Juegos Bolivarianos began in Santa Marta (COL), created in 1936 and whose first edition was the one in 1938.

 
This great South American sport event was created to pay tribute to the Venezuelan Simon Bolivar fighter for the freedom of current Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Peru and Venezuela.
 
The athletic competitions will take place from 21st to 25th November, with race tests taking place on Wednesday 22nd November 2017 as follows:
- 50km men: 6:30
- 20km women: 7:00
- 20km men: 7:30
 
The list of members is not very wide, but includes top athletes, including London World Champion 2017 Eider Arevalo.
 
 
50km men
 
Interesting will be the duel between Andres Chocho (ECU) and Claudio Paulino Villanueva (ECU), the two main contenders winning.

Also in the women's race an interesting duel between Sandra Lorena Arenas Campuzano (COL) and Kimberly Garcia Leon (PER); However, they should not be underestimated by Paola Bibiana Perez (ECU), Jessica Hancco Merma (PER) and Sandra Viviana Galvis Gomez (COL).

The competition sees the return of Eider Arevalo (COL) to race as clear favorites.
