Successfully the thirtieth edition of Espada Toledana in Toledo (ESP), which is held in conjunction with a National Cross award for the thirty-first edition, for the organization of the Atletic Club of Toledo.
In the afternoon of today, 18th November, the youth competitions were held with the usual frequent participation both at the female and male level.
The two most important races for elite walkers took place on the traditional 5km road course.

Even this year is absent as in 2016, and always due to muscular problems, Ainhoa Pinedo, the struggle for victory had narrowed between Maria Perez (ESP) and Laura Garcia-Caro (ESP), the two emerging stars of the march in Spain as outsiders Mirna Sucely Ortiz (GUA).
And so it was.
Until halfway three are leading: Laura Garcia-Caro (ESP), Maria Perez (ESP) and Mirna Sucely Ortiz (GUA).
Then Laura Garcia-Caro (ESP) force the pace and earns ten meters on Mirna Sucely Ortiz (GUA), while Maria Perez (ESP) is ten meters behind.
During the last two laps, the detachments are little dilating.

The parterre was the best with Luis Alberto Amezcua (ESP), winner of the 2015 edition and Diego Garcia (ESP) who in 2016 with a overwhelming finish had the best on Amezcua.
But there was also the presence of yje 20km vice-champion in London 2014, Erick Barrondo (GUA), who did not have the intention of making a third inconvenience.
Five in the lead at 2km, then force the pace Diego Garcia (ESP) and Luis Alberto Amezcua (ESP) to detach by ten yards on Erick Barrondo (GUA) and Jose Ignacio Dias (ESP).
The advantage of the first two at to two laps to go is about twenty meters, but Erick Barrondo (GUA) is forcing the pace and tries to reach them.

For second place Erick Barrondo (GUA) in 20:46 has the best on Luis Alberto Amezcua (ESP) in 20:48.
Fourth is Jose Ignacio Dias (ESP) in 20:51.
Eighth place for the monument of the Spanish race walk: Jesus Angel Garcia Bragado (ESP) in 22:01.
