Sunday, December 3, 2017 will be held in Melbourne (AUS) the 50km Australian Championships with a series of other events.
The course is the traditional one of the past years in the Fawner Park area, and the schedule is as follows:
7:00 AM - Men's Australian 50km Race Walk Championship
7:00 AM - Women 's Australian 50km Race Walk Championship
8:00 AM - Men's Open Invitational 20km Race Walk
8:00 AM - Women 's Open Invitational 20km Race Walk
9:00 AM - Men's Under 20 Invitational 10km Race Walk
9:00 AM - Women's Under 20 Invitational 10km Race Walk
10:00 AM - Men's Under 18 Invitational 5km Race Walk
10:00 AM - Women's Under 18 Invitational 5km Race Walk
The race, which is normally open internationally, will also see the participation of Perseus Karlstrom (SWE) and Damian Blocki (POL), who will face Mattew Griggs (AUS) and Brendon Reading (AUS) in 50km.
Very interesting will be the result of the 50km women with the start of Claire Tallent (AUS) at her first 50km Championship after winning the title several times in 20km.
Also in the 20km will be a special interest in the women's race where Alana Barber (NZL) will have to face Regan Lamble (AUS), Beki Smith (AUS), Rachel Tallent (AUS) and Kelly Ruddick (AUS).
The 20km men should instead be focused on the battle for the victory between Rhydian Cowley (AUS), Adam Garganis (AUS) and Quentin Rew (NZL).
