01/12/2017   Brian Hanley (GBR): survey on judging in race walking

Let's allow us to disclose this interesting survey of Brian Hanley (GBR) on judging in race walk.

Whether you're a judge, coach, athlete or just someone who loves race walking, you are invited to take part in a research study on judging in race walking. With the support of the IAAF Race Walking Committee, our study received funding from the International Athletics Foundation (IAF), which charitably assists the IAAF with regard to the development and promotion of athletics worldwide.

The study involves watching videos of race walkers and asks you to judge their technique by answering simple questions. Because we are asking you to review video footage, the best option is to take the survey using a desktop computer or laptop (with large screen) rather than a mobile device.

Further information is available on the first page of the survey (including contact information if you have any questions), and please allow yourself up to 20 minutes to complete it. We thank you in advance for your participation, which we hope will help greatly in future education of race walk judges.

Please click on the link below to access the survey (which will remain available until early in the New Year).
