Guadix in the region of Granada will host this weekend (Sunday, December 10) the VII Spanish Winter Race Walk Promotional Championship, which will take place together with the XXXII Grand Prix of Race Walking of the City of Guadix - Memorial Manuel Alcalde.

More than 110 walkers are registered in the promotional championship reserved for U20, U18 and U16 categories.

At the boys level the stars of the Championship should be José Manuel Perez Rubio and Daniel Jimeno Rivera, both of whom took part in the Podebrady European Cup in the U20 category.

The first competes for Juventus de Guadix, and will therefore have all the support of the local public, boasts an entry time  on the 5km of 21:33, established in Toledo on November 19., 2016, while the second, a year younger, that competes for the Club Simply Scorpio 71 boasts aa entry time  on the 5km of 22:08, established in Zaragoza on January 14, 2017.

At the female level the best entry time is that of Antia Chamosa Dacasa, CA Valladolid, which boasts a performance of 23:58 on the 5 km, obtained in Guadix on December 7, 2014. The team-mate Leyre Aramburu Gonzalez follows her with a performance of 24:11 on the 5 km, also obtained in Guadix in the same competition.
