Cochabamba, in Bolivia hosted the XXIII Juegos Sudamericanos Escolares.
In this tournament reserved for many sports, as usual, athletics has a prominent place.
It is a pleasure to note that, as is often the case in Central and South America, team tournaments, also reserved for schools, offer race walking events in the program.
So it was also in Cochabamba.
The two events were held on the municipal stadium track of Qillacollo and provided for the 5,000m track walk for males and the 3.000m walk for females.

The victory went to Mateo Romero Blanco (COL) with the time of 26:14.77
Second place to Christian Hernan Carrillo Siza (ECU) in 26:19.68
Third place for Mateo Antony Chocho Arevalo (ECU) in 26:20.41 which prevailed very little for the bronze over Ronald Stiven Salla Garces (COL) in 26:20.91.
Ten athletes at the start and all have completed the race.
3.000m track walk girls
Fight to the finish line between the athlete of Peru and that of Bolivia for the victory.
The race was lived on the battle for the victory between Veronica Andrea Marquez Sarapura (BOL) who led almost all the race, and Alicia Karen Curtihuanca Lima (PER).
In the final race the peruvian is able to detach the rival of the little and get the victory.
The victory went to Alicia Karen Curtihuanca Lima (PER) in 15:42.02

Third place to Maria José Mendoza Merino (ECU) in 17:02.70
