12/12/2017   Brian Hanley (GBR) - Elasticity in race walking

We are pleased to publish the proceedings of the International Seminar of Guadix (ESP) with the presentation of Brian Hanley (GBR).

The seminar held Saturday, December 9th in the context of the VII Campeonato de Espana de Marcha Atletica and the XXXII Grand Prix Ciudad de Guadix - XIII Memorial "Manuel Alcalde" had as its theme a series of technical insights.

These include the report by Brian Hanley, a prestigious British biomechanics who works as a professor at the University of Sports Science in Leeds (GBR), who recently produced a survey on the evaluation of the correct race walking, which we already announced on December 1, 2017.

Today we present in the section "Techniques, Rules and Conventions", subsection "Conventions" his presentation at the Guadix seminar.

His article (in english and some word in spanish) deals with how important it is for walkers to use elasticity in their muscles to improve their performance. It will include analysis of muscle groups used in walking and the reason why injuries may occur in some muscles.
