18/12/2017   Hong Kong - 20km road walk Championships






On Sunday 17 December the national road walk championships were held in Hong Kong.

 
 
The day was relatively discrete with a temperature that varied from 12° Celsius initial to 16° Celsius and with a humidity starting from 45% to 70%.
 
Not much participation: in the senior women category seven competitors at the start, while in the senior category men they started in four.
But in the races competed a fair number of master athletes (18 women and 15 men).
As usual, the U20 championships were also held.
 
 
20km men
 
Victory tp Edward Tse Chung Hung (HKG), with a time of 1:40:50, a bit far from the personal best of 1:30:13 established in Nomi (JPN) on March 15, 2015.
Second place to Peter John Gregoire (HGK) in 2:02:23
Third place to Ko Tai Chiu (HGK) in 2:03.46
 
In the race reserved only to senior athletes victory to Siu Man Shun (HKG) in 1:48:36
 
 
20km women
 
Victory to Jessica Ching Sia Nga (HKG) in 1:43:25, she also far from the personal best of 1:35:04 obtained in London on August 13, 2017 at the World Championships 2017.
Second place to Luna Wong Sze Wai (HKG) in 2:09:33
Third place to Edith Leung Yuk Yin (HGK) in 2:11:46
 
The race reserved to the Master athletes was won by Lau Haiying (HKG) in 1:58:29

Victory to Eric Tsang Chung Yin (HKG) in 56:11
