The IAAF decision on the disputed doping case (self blood transufion) of MateJ Toth (SVK) is approaching.
We recall that the Rio Olympic Champion had provided in his defense a dossier of over 250 pages with 25 attachments of hematology experts from six different Countries.
At the meeting of October 4, 2017 the Disciplinary Committee of the Slovakian Federation had decided that Matej Toth had not violated the doping rules; the final decision was therefore due to the IAAF which had 45 days to express itself, with the possibility of extending the deadline by two more weeks.
Yesterday, Monday, December 18, the deadlines have expired, but it will have to wait a couple of days for the decision of the experts who are studying the case. In turn they have requested an extension to the IAAF Doping Review Board, which set the deadline to 20 December 2017.
In the event that the IAAF and its group of experts do not accept the explanations provided by Matej Toth and its experts, the final decision will be at the CAS in Lausanne.
