Ana Cabecinha also started competing for the upcoming season.
She did it on Sunday 1December 17, 2017 on the Faro track where the Regional Winter Championships organized by the Algarve Athletics Association took place.
3.000m track walk women
This was the scheduled race that took place.
But the intentions of the athletes was also to continue and complete a 10,000m track walk.
Unfortunately, the weather conditions (a strong wind has hindered the event) have made athletes and organizers desist from this goal, and as a result were results of non-high standards on the 3.000m track walk.
Victory to Ana Cabecinha (POR) in 13:53.43
Second place to Edna Barros (POR) in 14:19.61
Third place to Maria Bernardo (POR) in 15:01.28
But at this point both Ana Cabecinha and Edna Barros did not lose heart and to make sense of the day they took part in the 3,000m running with these results: Cabecinha (1st in 10:44.09), Barros (2nd in 11:26.06)
Commenting on this day, on her Facebook profile, Ana Cabecinha releases a nice comment: "The time has come to return to serious walk".
However, it remains interesting to note that in the 3,000m track walk, even if it is a regional winter championship, 10 athletes were presented at the start, even though the first seven on the finish line were all from the Club Oriental of Pechao by Paulo Murta, which continues to grind out athletes in the race walk.

Second place to André Antunes (POR) in 22:59.34
Third place to Daniel Sousa (POR) in 26:13.95
At the team level it is very interesting to note that in track walk of 18 participants between males and females, 17 came from two teams: the Club Oriental of Pechao and the Club Atletico of Tunes.
