In the US morning in Santee, California (USA) the 50km 2018 US Championships took place, both male and female.

 
As usual an open competition.

Victory to Nick Christie (USA) in 4:09:32 that in addition to the title of US champion shatters his personal best that was obtained in San Diego (USA) on November 22, 2015 with a time of 4:11.48.
There are his split times:

- 10km: 48:40

- 20km: 1:35:54 (47:14)

- 30km: 2:23:36 (47:36)

- 40km: 3:14.22 (50:46)

- last 10km in 65:10

Second place to Matthew Forgues (USA) in 4:23:28 also to the personal best (previous 4:29:14 obtained in Lima (PER) on May 13, 2017 for the Pan-American race walking Cup

5th - $2,000
6th - $1,000

The funds are provided by USA Track & Field.

For the UNation International Women’s Challenge, the tentative prize structure is:
1st - $4,000
2nd - $3,000
3rd - $2,000
4th - $1,500
5th - $1,000 with anyone woman finishing outside of the top 5, but walking faster than 4:30, receiving $500.

There is no “double-dipping”. Only Americans eligible for the US Championships are eligible for the US Championships’ prize money, and only international, non-US Championships-eligible athletes are eligible for the International Women’s Challenge prize money.
