The result obtained in Grosseto (ITA) by the young athlete Annalisa Russo (ITA) not yet twenty years old has not gone unnoticed by Marcia dal Mondo, but due to the International rules, which take into account the age at 31.12.2018, she competes in the category U23.
The young Neapolitan athlete (she was born in Frattamaggiore on July 11, 1998) coached by coach Maria Grazia Orsani, in the course of 2017, her first year in the national limelight, immediately won two Italian titles in the U20 category.
The first in terms of time, the one obtained on the indoor track of Ancona where he won the U20 Italian Championship on 3.000m indoor with the time of 14:35.47 (which is also her personal best), and the second in Cassino at the Italian Championships U20 on the road in 20km with a time of 1:44:10.
Even then, that improvement had shown the good qualities of the young athlete who had improved on her second 20km of a good 4:26.
In the race last Sunday in Grosseto (ITA) Annalisa Russo repeated again with an improvement similar to that of the previous year (4:24) with the new personal best on the distance of 1:39:46.
Practically undefeated in 2017 in Italy at the U20 level, last year it suffered only two disappointments:
- the first of the U20 European Championships in Grosseto where he finished 12th in 50:39.96 (second of the Italian)
- and the disqualification (not without some controversy) in the national final B on Clubs Track Championships in Ostia.
