Algeciras (ESP) today hosted the Andalusia Road Walk Championships on the 10km distance.
The program also included the following competitions for women (35km and 20km) plus other competitions for youth categories.
35km women
A single competitor at the start, Ainhoa Pinedo Gonzalez (ESP) who finishes the race in 2:53.43 (average of 4:58/km).
Apparently the athletes are taking the measures to participate this year in the European Championships on the distance of 50km.
We remember that last January 7, 2018 in Porto de Mos, Ines Henriques (POR) has finished the race of 35km in 2:45:51.
20km women
A single competitor at the start, also this race, Julia Takacs (ESP) that completes it in 1:33:36 which currently represents the best world performance of the season (previous by Kimberly Garcia, PER in 1:38:03 established in Lima on January 21, 2018)
10km men
It was the most interesting race, also open to international athletes, with as many as 60 athletes at the start
Victory to Luis Alberto Amezcua Balboa (ESP) in 41:04, which is currently the best seasonal time of the year, having improved the performance obtained by Tatsuhiko A (JPN - 42:47) on January 1, 2018.
Second place to Alex Wright (IRL) in 41:08
Third place to Erick Barrondo (GUA) in 41:26.
10km women
Victory to Mirna Sucely Ortiz Flores (GUA) in 46:03
Second place to Maria Perez (ESP) in 46:27
Third place to Sofia Hernandez Rodriguez (ESP) in 52:47
