An interesting result comes from Antalya (TUR) where in the first race of the 2018 outdoor season the protagonist is the young Turca Meryem Bekmez.
10km U20 women
The young athlete (date of birth 31.7.2000) has approached his own record of Turkey (not only U20, but also absolute) on the distance (44:58 established in Antalya, TUR on Feb. 11, 2017) in 45:09.
In the race last Saturday, however, Meryem Bekmez, passing over 5km (split time of 22:14), has established instead the new record of Turkey, which already belonged to her and that had established in Podebrady on Apr. 9, 2016 (22:53). To note that on the distance on the track the young Turkish girl has a performance of 22:32.79 obtained in Nairobi (KEN) on Jul. 15, 2017 when she obtained the silver in the last edition of the U18 World Championships.
