Also in France this weekend the Indoor Championships took place for the U23 and U20 categories, with the addition, compared to those carried out in Italy, of the U18.
All the competitions were held in the Lyon sports hall, a very beautiful facility dedicated to Stéphane Diagana.
5.000m indoor U23 men
The battle for victory and for the title of French Champion was restricted to two competitors: Jean Blancheteau (FRA) (born in 1996) and Gabriel Bordier (FRA) (born in 1997).
In the Lyonese afternoon the victory went to Gabriel Bordier (FRA), the youngest of the two, with a time of 20:07.14.
This performance represents the new personal best of the athlete; previous of 20:37.39 established in Mondeville on Jan. 13, 2016.

The favorite of the eve, David Kuster (FRA), had no difficulty winning the race and the title of U20 Indoor Champion.
For him the time of 20:24.80, far from 37.20 from the personal best recently (Dec. 17, 2017) established in Nogent-sur-Oise (FRA).
Second place to Justin Bournier (FRA) in 21:52.75 that recently (Jan. 14, 2018) had been able in Vittel (FRA) to stop the clock in an excellent 21:07.97 and from which a performance was expected under 21:00.00
Third place to Hamza Hamidi (TUN) in 22:21.68 to the new personal best (previous of 22:47.83 established in Val-de-Reuil, FRA on Jan. 21, 2018)
Fourth place and bronze medal of the French championships to Ryan Gognies (FRA) in 22:28.11.
