13/02/2018   Erfurt (GER): Christopher Linke wins 3.000m indoor walk in 10:49.33






Last Saturday, those who were on the stands of the indoor arena in Erfurth (GER) were delighted by a wonderful race on the unusual distance of the 3,000m men's indoor.

 
Five athletes were the protagonists, but two were the stars who fought for the victory until the last lap.
 
Christopher Linke (GER) won the race with the excellent time of 10:49.33 which is presented as the main candidate for victory next weekend at the Senior Championships of Germany that will be held in Dortmund.
Linke, who boasts a personal best of 18:44.32 (set in Erfurt, GER on Feb. 14, 2016) on the 5.000m indoor walk, will have to deal with his teammate of SC Potsdam Nils Brembach (GER), five years younger, that in Erfurt he tried until the last to counter his victory, finishing second in 10:52.15 (on the 5.000m indoor he boasts a personal best of 18:46.77, also established in Erfurt, GER on Feb. 14, 2016)
Third place to the local idol Karl Junghannss (GER), born in 1996, of the LAC Erfurt Top Team who finished the race in 11:13.47
In fourth place was the young Leo Kopp (GER), born in 1998, of the LG Nord Berlin, in 11.17.35 that on the 5.000m indoor boasts a personal best of 19:58.51, established in Halle, GER on March 4, 2017
 
The fifth participant Hagen Pohle (GER) suffered an unexpected disqualification.
