the two walking races on the classic 3,000m distances for women and 5.000m for men took place on Saturday Feb. 17, 2018.
3.000m indoor women
After returning from the long stay in Australia the favorite of the race Brigita Virbalyte-Dimsiene (LTU) - who in the last part of the Australian stay had suffered some muscle problems in the right leg and the achilles tendon of the left leg - competed with some anxiety.

Also in this event the return to the race at home of Marius Ziukas (LTU) that in Adelaide has recently obtained his personal best in the Australian Championships of 20km, valid also for the IAAF Challenge (1:20:31).
Yesterday Marius Ziukas won in 18:58.27 setting momentarily the third world performance on the 5.000m indoor walk.
