19/02/2018   Birmingham (GBR): Tom Bosworth obtains the world best performance on 5.000m walk indoor (18:28.70)






Weekend of Indoor Championships also for Great Britain.

Walking races took place on Saturday 17 February 2017.
 
 
5.000m indoor men
 
Again a victory with the new record of Great Britain for Tom Bosworth (GBR). He ended the race in 18:28.70 best indoor world performance of the year. His previous British record of 18:39:47 dates back to 12.2.2017 and was obtained in Sheffield (GBR).
These are his split times:
- 1.000m: 3:43.67
- 2.000m: 7:25.06
- 3.000m: 11:07.47
- 4.000m: 14:51.52
- 5.000m: 18:28.70
 
Second place to Cameron Corbishley (GBR) in 20:57.26 
Third place to Christopher Snook (GBR) in 22:42.76 (world best performance indoor U18).

The British Athletics Indoor Championships for the women's category took place on this unusual distance.
 
Bethan Davies (GBR) won in 21:25.37 (she has e personal best outdoor of 21:21.52 obtained in Birmingham, GBR on July 2, 2017)

- 2.000m: 8:33.55
- 3.000m: 12:52.41
- 4.000m: 17:11.36
