11/04/2018   Patrizio Parcesepe - Degree in Sport and Motor Science - Management and Organization of High-level Sport

A little less than a month away from the interview we made to Patrizio Parcesepe who in three weeks had won three Italian titles with three of his athletes, this weekend will be another of those that the Fiamme Gialle coach will remember with much pleasure .

We start from Thursday, April 5, 2018 when the coach of Antonella Palmisano, Francesco Fortunato, Massimo Stano, Andrea Agrusti and Mariavittoria Becchetti (we stop here!) has graduated from the usual age of almost 52 years (will fulfill them on May 28, 2018).

He wanted it for some time and for some time he discussed it in the environment of the Italian race walk.

Obtaining a “Degree in Sport and Motor Science - Management and Organization of High-level Sport" was his goal for more than a few years.

To obtain it for him with a result of first-class honours (summa cim laude) was the crowning of the study and research, equal to the dedication he has always put in following the training of his athletes.

Also the topic chosen for the thesis is not a trivial topic: "Duchenne muscular dystrophy: inheritance and molecular factors of muscle degeneration".

Just the time for a toast, and off to pack with Antonella Palmisano and Francesco Fortunato in that of Rio Maior, where last Saturday he was at the refreshment station shouting like an obsessive towards his two athletes (in particular against Fortunato) giving advice for reading the race.

But his sensitivity was great when he also offered to help a great opponent, Perseus Karlstrom (SWE), who was looking for someone to supply him with supplies.

Encouraging your athletes and opponents is not a trivial matter: you have to really love race walk.

All this in a context of discussions with the judging body and with the other coaches on what the next future holds, on the abnormal increase in real or perceived “bent knee”, which are probably not.

Great hope is that of Parcesepe: the insoles for electronic loss of contact control.

How can you not agree with him ?!

Meanwhile, congratulations to the new doctor, both for the results of his athletes and for the recent graduation.
