Tomohiro Noda (JPN) takes the lead in 2:15:03 (fifth 5km in 22:30 and sixths 5km in 22:35)
Takayuki Tanii (JPN) is second in 2:15:49 (fifth 5km in 22:55 and sixths 5km in 23:52)
Yuki Yamazaki (JPN) follows in 2:21:37 (fifth 5km in 24:39 and sixths 5km in 24:29)
He approaches the third place Shuto Goto (JPN) in 2:22:48
At 40km
Tomohiro Noda (JPN) is the unchallenged leader in 3:00:25 (seventh 5km in 22:40 and eighth 5km in 22:42)

In third place is Shuto Goto (JPN) in 3:10:14 (seventh 5km in 23:57 and eighth 5km in 23:29)
Yuki Yamazaki (JPN) is now in fourth position in 3:12:12 (seventh 5km in 24:55 and eighth 5km in 25:40)
Last 5km
With two split times on the 5km of 22:55 and 22:36 Tomohiro Noda (JPN) goes to win the race in 3:45:56

They were in 25 at the star, and finish the race in 19 with 4 DQ and 2 DNF.
We only want to point out that for the second choices of Japan 50km race walkers (those that will not participate in the World Team Championships in Taicang) Tomohiro Noda (JPN) and Takayuki Tanii (JPN) have obtained the third and fourth 2018 season performance over the distance of 50km after the time obtained in Dundince by Matej Toth (SVK - 3:42:46) and Veli-Matti Partanen (FIN - 3:44:43).
50km women
The first women's 50km in the history of Japan saw the participation of nine athletes, of whom eight completed the race.
Victory for Serena Sonoda (JPN) in 4:31:52 with the following split times:
- 10km: 54:57 (27:35 + 27:12)
- 20km: 1:29:05 (27:19 + 26:59)
- 30km: 2:42:54 (27:02 + 26:47)
- 40km: 3:36:13 (26:37 + 26:42)
- at the arrival: 4:31:52 (27:31 + 28:08)
Second place to Nami Kumagai (JPN) in 4:39:01
Third place to Natsumi Kurahara (JPN) in 4:44:45
The winner, Serena Sonoda, places actually in 6th place in the 2018 season list of 50km women behind Johana Ordonez (ECI - 4:28:58) and in front of Agnieszka Ellward (POL - 4:32:57)
