There were not so many athletes at the Monthey Grand Prix in Switzerland for the track race, but Maria Czakova (SVK) got a good result.

At the head from the start the Slovakia athlete who last March 24, 2018 in Dudince competed in the 50km with a good time of 4:14:25 she won the Grand Prix of Monthey.
After passing to 5,000m in 22:5.4, Maria Czakova (SVK) had a slight decline, but managed to finish the race in 45:27.5.
This performance represents the new personal best of the athlete (previous 47:47.0 obtained in Nové Mesto nad Metuji, CZE the far June 8, 2013, but is the new record of Slovakia on the distance (previous 45:53.75 belonging to Maria Galikova and always obtained in Nové Mesto nad Metuji, CZE on June 7,2014).
It also represents the best seasonal world performance on the distance having done better than the time of Ana Cabecinha (45:32.86) obtained in Faro (POR) on Jan. 7, 2018.
Second place to Corinne Henchoz (SUI) in 59: 57.9 (split time at 5,000m in 29:40.4)
Third place to Beatrice Petetin (SUI) in 75: 52.8 (split time at 5.000m in 36: 23.5)
