On Sunday 22nd April the Hungarian Championships of 20km were held in Bekescsaba (HUN), with a series of otterrai events for the youth sector and an unusual 15km for the U20
20km men
Victory to Máté Helebrandt (HUN) who at the World Championships in London 2017 obtained an excellent 6th place in the 50 km in 3:43:56 and who focused on the longest distance his attention towards the 2018 European Championships in Berlin.
Helebrand won the title in 1:24:02 with 13" in front of the the second clear sign of a fairly uncertain race to the end.
Second place to Bence Barnabás Venyercsán (HUN), U23 in 1:24:15, who gets the new personal best (previous of 1:25:29 obtained in 2017).
Third place for Tomasz Bagdány (HIN) in 1:29:45.
Sixteen athletes at the start of which 14 completed the race and 2 DNF.
20k women
Easy victory to Barbara Kovács (HUN) with a time of 1.37.19.
Second place to Anett Torma (HUN) in 1:38:03 after 12km walk Eda soul der to shoulder with Kovacs.
Bronze to the U23 Rita Récsei (HUN) in 1:39:53.
