01/05/2018   Bristonas (LTU) - 32nd Meeting Mikenas






Saturday, April 28, 2018 Lithuania opened the road race season with the traditional tribute to the only Olympic medalist walker Antanas Mikėnas (silver in the 20 km of Melbourne 1956) organizing in Bristonas the 32nd edition of the Memorial and disputing at the same time a meeting among young people from the Baltic countries of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

 
The event was attended by 136 athletes from the Baltic countries, and also from Poland, on a sunny day with a mild climate.
 
 
10km men
 
The main race on 10 km. was won by Artur Mastianica (LTU) in 41:27, a good time for the athlete specialized in the 50 km (3:58:33 his time of registration in Taicang 2018).
Second place to Normunds Ivzans (LAT), aged 47, with a time of 46:13.
 
 
 

 

 

 
10km U20 men
 
In the U20s victory to Ruslan Sergatsjov (EST) in 47.56, who ranked third overall.
Second place to Pulius Juozaitis (LTU) in 49:45

Victory to Arminas Rudenka (LTU) in 50:48.
Second place to Mantas Juncys (LTU) in 52:27
Third place to Arnoldas Liutinskis (LTU) in 53:01

The main race on 10 km. was won by Zivile Vaiciukeviciute (LTU) in 45:36
Second place for the twin Monika Vaiciukeviciute (LTU) in 46:13.
Both athletes are preparing to participate on May 5 at the 20km of Taicang 2018.

In the U20 victory to Austeja Kavaliauskaite (LTU) in 50:51.
Second place to Reda Berteskaite (LTU) in 58.55
Third place to Angela Mandel (EST) in 59:48
 
 
In the team competitions for the race walk Baltic Championships in the categories U20, U18 and U16 won Lithuania with 58 points. Estonia ranked second, with 37 points, and Latvia third with 30 points.
