In recent years it has not happened very often to see organized a race on the distance of 2 miles.
It happened today in Voronovo (RUS) city about a hundred kilometers west of Moscow.
In the organization involved a representative of the athletes who have long been passionate about race walk: Sergey Nochevnyy (below his report)
Another starting point was a particular use of the Pit Lane Rule in terms of penalties in today's race.
The regulation of the race in fact provided a penalty of 10" for the first red card received by the single athlete, plus an additional 20" for the second, while the third was triggered the DQ.
2 miles road walk men
At the start there were 14 athletes including Kirill Frolov (RUS) who on Feb. 19, 2018 won the bronze at the Race Walk Winter Championships in Sochi (RUS) on 20km in 1:19:49.
And it was precisely Kirill Frolov (RUS) to win this unusual test in 11:51 inclusive of a penalty of 10" for a red card for loss of contact.

In second place was Aleksey Golovin (RUS) in 12:16 (on Feb. 19, 2018 he arrived 6th at the Race Walk Winter Championships in Sochi (RUS) on 20km in 1:21:28

In third place was Maksim Krasnov (RUS) in 12:19

At the start 11 athletes.
Victory to Ksenia Buldygina (RUS) which last Feb. 19, 2018 had arrived 11th at the Race Walk Winter Championships in Sochi (RUS) on 20km in 1:34:20. She also suffered a penalty of 10" for a red card for loss of contact.

- 2.218m: 9:37 (4:26 on the km)
- 3.000m: 13:25 (3:48 on 782m)
- 3.218m: 14:35 (4:58 on the km including the penalty)
In second place was Natalya Nikitina (RUS) in 14.35 (last Feb. 19, 2018 she arrived 19th at Race walk Winter Championships in Sochi (RUS) on 20km in 1:39:59).

In third place was Janna Jobolova (RUS) in 14:51

The central estate of the Voronovo settlement already dozens of years hosts race walking competitions - several Russian Cups, the European starts, numerous festivals and others.
A peculiar counter of Voronovo is the "Voronovo Mile" tournament where except national walking, professionals fight for good monetary prizes at a distance 2 miles (on the course results on 3 km are officially fixed).
And on May 2, 2018: on start of men's calling members of national team Kirill Frolov, Alexey Golovin, Alexey Shevchuk and others.
The main favorite Frolov, all this is understood, in February Kirill has won a medal of the Russia Championship, having shown 1:19.40 on a 20 km race!

At the audience takes breath: at least the record of the route will be. Before the best result of the Voronovo festival on two mile was 12:10 by Alexey Golovin in 2016.
Frolov overcomes 3 km on the course for 10:55.
The finish at the leader shakes fans -2 miles- in 11:41 !
It quicker than Giovanni de Benedictis's achievement - 11:47.02 (edn: obtained in Siderno, ITA on Oct. 11, 1989) !
The truth according to regulations of a competition for a red card there are penalties has been added (for the first red card - 10 sec., for the second 20 sec.) Therefore in the protocol at Kirill +10 sec., but all the same impress time of the Russian walker!
Alksey Golovin is the second on finish in 12:16, third Maxim Krasnov from the Podolsk club "Irida" (12:19)
In women race Ksenia Buldygina from Chelyabinsk has won in 14:24, against silver at the Chuvashian Natalya Nikitina (14.35), Zhanna Zholobova from Moscow (14:51) has closed the three of prize-winners.
