Race walking show in Turin on the occasion of the 2nd regional round of the Italian track championships.
5.000m track walk women
It was foreseeable that with a parterre of three Chinese at the start the race could excite the audience in the stands.
But Quieyang Shenjie (CHN), Lu Xiuzhi (CHN) and Ma Zhenxia (CHN) have really given a show.
Together with the 1.000m (4:21.3) and around 1.200, Qieyang Shenjie and Lu Xiuzhi force the pace and detach the young Ma Zhenxia.
The following steps are:
- 2.000m: 8:38.4 (4:17.1)
- 3.000m: 12:49.3 (4:10.9)
and the two athletes registered for Atletica Fossano 75 are still together.
At around 3.200m. the Tibetan Qieyang Shenjie force again on the adventure companion.
At 4.000m the split time is 16:59.3 (4:10.0) and for the victory the game is closed.
Victory yo Qieyang Shenjie (CHN) in 21:00.15 (last 1.000m in 4:00.85) which represents the best seasonal world distance performance.
Second place for Lu Xiuzhi (CHN) in 21:26.25 which represents the second seasonal world distance performance.
Third place for Ma Zhenxia (CHN) in 21:53.33
On the shields also Alessia Titone (ITA) that in the wake of the Chinese trio establishes the new personal best with the time of 25:14.38.
The precedent of 25:38.57 had been established just a week ago in Brixen.

An Italian (Federico Tontodonati) against four Chinese (Wang Rui, Wang Qin, Zhang Jun and Jin Xiangqian) in a show competition.
There are five together up to 7.000m with these split times.
- 1.000m: 4:07.5
- 2.000m: 8:09.5 (4:02.0)
- 3.000m: 12:12.4 (4:02.9)
- 4.000m: 16:08.4 (3:56.0)
- 5.000m: 20:12.9 (4:04.5)
- 6,000m: 24:14.8 (4:01.9)
- 7,000m: 28:14.6 (3:59.8)
He plays his cards Federico Tontodonati and tries to detach Wang Rui and Wang Qin, but the two react immediately.
The passage at 8,000m is 33:06.0 while the one at 9,000m is 35:59.4.
In the last 1,000m still force the pace Wang Rui (CHN) who competes for the Athletics Canavesana and wins in 39:50.44 (third seasonal world performance).
Second place to Wang Qin (CHN) in 40:00.13 who competes for the Atletica Saluzzo in 40:00.13 (fourth seasonal world performance).
Third place to Federico Tontodonati in 40:02.51 which gets the new personal best (previous 40:06.06 obtained in Livorno, ITA on April 22, 2018) and the fifth seasonal world performance.
Following Zhang Jun (CHN) who competes for the Athletics in Fossano 40:20.57 also to the personal best (previous 42:33.68 obtained in Cali, COL on July 18, 2015) which is the seventh worldwide performance of the season.
Fifth place to Jin Xiangqian (CHN) in 41:01.93.

Worthy of note are the results obtained by Stefano Chiesa (ITA) and Leonardo Dei Tos (ITA) in Cinisello Balsamo in the Lombardy regional phase.
Stefano Chiesa wins in 41:16.39
Leonardo Dei Tos, who competed off the charts, is second in 41:29.93
In Matera instead easy victory for Massimo Stano (ITA) in 42:24.74
Women
Worthy of note is the result of Mariavittoria Becchetti (ITA) who won the 5.000m march on the track in Sassari in 22:59.78
