29/05/2018   Borský Mikuláš (SVK): victories of Rafal Fedaczynski (POL) and Maria Czaková (SVK)






It was a big weekend in Slovakia with the 50th Open 20km and U20 10km Roadwalk Championships contested on Saturday in Borský Mikuláš.
On Sunday, the annual meeting in Hlohovec, where a series of evente on 5km were played with athletes from Croatia, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Italy, Slovenia, Austria and the Czech Republic.
The numbers of the participants at this race walk weekend were excellent, with 75 in the race on Saturday and 55 on Sunday.
 
 
In Borský Mikuláš, unfortunately, the off-season heat has compromised the performance of the athletes
 
 
20km men
 
 
In the men's 20 km championship, victory to Rafal Fedaczynski (POL) with a time of 1:27:40.
Second place to Miroslav Uradnik (SVK) in 1:28:30.
Third place to Milan Rizek (SVK) in 1:31:41.
 
 
20km women
 
The 20km women's championship is experienced on a battle between the Slovak athletes, Maria Czaková and Monika Hornáková.
Victory to Maria Czaková (SVK) in 1:41:12.
Second place to Monika Hornáková (SVK) in 1:41:34
Third place to Ivana Renic (CRO) in 1:47:56
 
 
U20 races
 
The two races reserved for the U20 on the distance of 10km saw the victory of Lubomír Kubiš (SVK) in 45:31, not so far from the personal best established to Dudince on March 24, 2018 (44:58) and that perhaps was the best performance of the day according to the Slovakian coach Matej Spišiak.
The victory in the women's 10 km U20 went to Hana Burzalova (SVK) in 52:35.
