It was a Saturday to remember for the athletics of Lithuania, and in particular for the march of that country.
 
 
3.000m women's track walk
 
Brigita Virbalyte-Dimsiene (LTU) took part in the Universitary Championships in Utena (LTU) the women's walk with the clear goal of obtaining the new Lithuanian record on that distance.
The previous record (12:09.91) belonged to Sada Eidikyte-Buksniene (LTU) and dated back to 1989 established in Finland in Lapinhiate.
At the start together with Brigita Virbalyte-Dimsiene also Zivile Vaiciukeviciute who comes second in 12:30.58.
 
With a beautiful race, the strong Lithuanian athlete, now coached by the Australian Brent Wallance, has set the new record of Lithuania in 12:05.72 lowering the previous by 4" and 19/100.
This result is currently the best performance in the world of 2018 on this distance.
