23/06/2018   Murcia (ESP): Marina Pena Alonso and Jose Manuel Perez Rubio win the Spanish U20 Championships






 
We start the intense weekend of race walk in Europe with the women's competition of the Spanish U20 Championships whose first day is being held in Murcia (ESP).

10.000m track walk U20 women
 
 
We have witnessed an interesting duel between the two favorites on the eve, Marina Pena Alonso (ESP) and Antia Chamosa Dacasa (ESP).
The first was credited with a personal best of 48:34.21 obtained in Grosseto (ITA) on July 20, 2017 when she arrived fourth at the European U20 Championships while the personal best of the second, for the other always obtained in the same Grosseto race that earned her the seventh place, it is 49:08.52.
 
The two Spanish athletes have done a race paying particular attention to obtaining the victory rather than the clock result.
 
Victory to Marina Pena Alonso (ESP) in 50:30.58
Second place to Antia Chamosa Dacasa (ESP) in 50:55.41
Almost 50" after arrived in third position Gemma Mora Martinez (ESP) in 51:45.55.

Really a fought race for the title of Champion U20 men in Spain between the two strongest athletes of the season: Jose Manuel Perez Rubio (ESP) and Alvaro Lopez Nunez (ESP).
 
The victory comes to the young athlete from Guadix, Jose Manuel Perez Rubio who finishes his race in 43:13.68  his new personal best (previous of 43:56.09 obtained in Granollers, ESP on July 9, 2017)
Second place to Alvaro Lopez Nunez in 43:52.69 who in Taicang raced on 10km road walk finishing in 43:04..
Third at the finish is Cesar Alberto Herrera Cortes (COL) who participated outside the Championship and ends in 46: 0.97.
The bronze of the Spanish Championships goes to Daniel Jimeno Rivera (ESP) in 47:44.85.
