Victory, with a beautiful walk that enjoys the purists of the specialty, to Valentina Trapletti (ITA) in 21:23.51 which gets the fourth World performance of the year on the distance behind the two recent established on June 16 in Castellon (ESP) by the Spanish Maria Perez (20:50.79) and Julia Takacs (21: 20.98) among which there is the Chinese who trains in Italy (and competes for an Italian company) that in the regional phase of these championships has obtained an excellent 21:00.15.

The disqualification of Diana Cacciotti leaves free for Nicole Colombi (ITA) who comes second in 22:42.65

Short technical comment

We do not allow ourselves to discuss the behavior of the jury, particularly in the women's competition, even if we do not understand the different judgment level applied, in our opinion, towards some athlete.

What we can not understand, however, is why the use of the new rule involving penalties instead of disqualification has not been used in the Clubs Championships.
The Pit Lane Rule (Penalty Area) has already been successfully tested in the World Team Championships in Taicang.

Its use also in the finals of the Club Championship, as it done also in other Countries, would have given the judges the possibility of a more serene judgment even in the most dubious cases and the athletes coulfd finish the race by bringing the points to the Clubs.

If not now when then?

Bergamo - Silver final

In the other finals of the Clubs Championships results with lights and shadows, in particular in the silver of Bergamo.

In the men's race of Bergamo, the most important on a technical level, there was an interesting challenge between Federico Tontodonati, Stefano Chiesa and Massimo Stano.

Victory to Massimo Stano (ITA) in 20:32.81.
His distance comparison with Leonardo Dei Tos, who competed in Modena, saw him behind the latter who, passing by 5,000m, got the time of 20:10.3.
Second place to Juriy Micheletti (ITA) in 21:45.22
Third place fto Fabio Barattini (ITA) in 22:24.77

Only fourth Federico Tontodonati (ITA) in 22:37.33, while the other favorite Stefano Chiesa (ITA) was disqualified with some controversy after the race.
Even in this case we can only remember that the use of the rule of Pit Lane would have solved, at least at the Clubs level, all the problems complained of by some coaches.
