25/06/2018   Katerini (GRE): Olga Fiaska and Anthimos Kelepouris win Greek U18 Championships






Last weekend on 23-24 June in Katerini (500 km north of Athens), under the altar of Mount Olympus, the mountain of the twelve Gods of the ancient Greeks, the national championship U18 took place.

 
The weather was perfect 21°C and cloudy and helped the athletes in obtaining good performances.
 
 
5.000m track walk U18 girls
 
In the 5,000m track wals girls Olga Fiaska (GRE) doubled her victory over the 10km race last week at Trikala (U20), and she won the gold medal also in the U18 Championships, with an excellent time 23:22.11.
The second place in the race that was very interesting and fought, went to Maria Seferiadi (GRE) in 24:12.61.
The young athlete, who has long been trying to obatain the standard to participate in the U18 European Championships in Gyor, got it in this test.
Third place to Panagiota Florou (GRE) in 26:48.29
 
Seventeen athletes at the start and all have completed the race.
 
 

 

 

 
 
10000m track walk U18 boys
 
Anthimos Kelepouris (GRE) also repeated his triumph in Trikala last week, when he won the gold medal on 10 km, breaking the ticket for Gyor.
 
This weekend Kelepouris has imposed on the 10.000m track walk in a race in total solitude, and for training purposes for him, ended in 47:25.38.
Second place to Pavlos Bekoulis (GRE) in 49:13.78
Third place to Alexandros Mortzakis (GRE) in 49:16.91
