On Sunday, June 24th in the Nino Papacci park in the Grottarossa area (Rome), a youth competition took place with the participation to a 3.000m walk of Marco De Luca.
In itself it would be one of the many news in the world of the Italian walk, but this is something more important for the symbolic memory that wants to leave. This year's Roma Nord Trophy was named after Cristana Pellino, former athlete of the Forestry Group and of the national women's walking team, who unfortunately passed away at a young age (she too as Annarita Sidoti) at 47, last February.
It could not fail to honor the memory of Cristiana Pellino, Marco De Luca, a personal friend of Mr. amd Mrs. Collatina, who wanted to remember the friend of all time.
Race walking is also made of these small, but great things.
