Week end of National Championships in Portugal in Leiria with the two running races on the first day.
The tests took place on the 10,000m track walk.
10.000m men's track walk
Victory to Joao Vieira (POR) who after walking up to 5.000m in the company of the other athletes has forced the pace and went to win his umpteenth title of Champion of Portugal with a time of 41:54.2
Joao Vieira has however a personal best of 39:44.91 obtained in the 2011 edition in Lisbon, which is the record of the Championships.
Second place to Miguel Carvalho (POR) in 42:07.4
Third place to Pedro isidro (POR) in 42:10.8
Only eight athletes at the start and all have completed the race.
10.000m women's track walk
Victory to Ines Henriques (POR) who went ahead of the race before 5,000m and maintained a good pace which then ensured her victory in 43:19.3.
This result represents the best personal performance of the athlete, but she boasts on the road distance a better time (43:09) obtained in Beijing (CHN) on Sep. 18, 2010.
Second place to Ana Cabecinha (POR) in 43:51.8 who had won in the last four editions, but who managed to keep the Championship record (43:08.18 established in the 2008 edition).
Third place to Edna Barros (POR) in 47:13.8
