It was the heat that dominated the Elite Championships in the Elite category that took place in Albi (FRA) on Friday 6 July 2018.
The two races were covered on the distance of 5.000m track walk.
5.000m men's track walk
Pretty quiet victory for Gabriel Bordier (FRA) in 19:38.19
Second place to Kenny Guinaudeau (FRA) in 20:41.88 new personal best (previous of 21:17.07 obtained at La Roche-sur-Yon, FRA on Jul. 24, 2013)
Third place to Antonin Boyez (FRA) in 21:24.17
Only eight athletes at the start and everyone completed the race.
5.000m women's track walk
The women's test offered the audience a more massive presence: there were sixteen athletes at the start.
In addition, the race was much more fought at least for the positions of the medals with the first three athletes under 23:00.00
Victory to Clemence Beretta (FRA) in 22:05.25 that recently (June 23, 2018) in Blois (FRA) in better weather conditions, had obtained the personal best on the distance in 21:57.91
Second place to Emilie Menuet (FRA) in 22:36.24
Third place to Marine Quennehen (FRA) in 22:49.97 new personal best (previous of 22:50.68 obtained in Blois, FRA on June 17, 2017)
