Underway in Getafe (ESP) the Spanish Athletics Championships with the marching races that take place on the classic distance of 10.000m run on the track.
This morning at multi-sport stadium Juan de la Cierva the women's competition took place.

The favorites were Maria Perez (ESP), Raquel Gonzalez (ESP) and Laura Garcia-Caro (ESP) in a very interesting race.
As outsiders Julia Takacs (ESP) was indicated in her approach to the 50km of the European Championships and the other U23 of the group, Lidia Sanchez-Puebla (ESP).
In short, a beautiful "parterre des rois".
The three favorites alternate to lead up to 7,000m with the following split times:
- 1.000m: Maria Perez in 4:24.02
- 2.000m: Raquel Gonzalez in 8:45.12 (4:21.10)
The FC Barcelona athlete is still leading up to 4.000m with the following split times:
- 3.000m: 13:21.51 (4:36.39)
- 4.000m: 17:45.24 (4:23.73)
when in the lead Maria Perez passes in ans keeps it up to 7.000m when she is forced to serve a minute penalty following three red cards
- 5.000m: 22:14.05 (4:28.81)
- 6.000m: 26:21.00 (4:06.95)
- 7.000m: 30:35.56 (4:14.56)
AAt this point Raquel Gonzalez (ESP) leads at 8,000m in 35:02.55 (1.000m in 4:26.99) and at 9,000m in 39:20.79 (1.000m in 4:18.24)
With a last 1,000m in 4:17.16 the Catalan goes to win in 43:37.95 which at the moment is the second seasonal world performance on the distance.
Second place to Laura Garcia-Caro (ESP) in 43:50.25 new personal best (previous of 44:32.84 obtained at Eugene USA on July 23, 2014).
Third place to Maria Perez (ESP) in 44:33.03
Followed by Julia Takacs (ESP) in 45:28.77, Lidia Sanchez-Puebla (ESP) in 45:43.03 and Mar Juarez (ESP) in 46:25.03.
