28/08/2018   Eskilstuna (SWE): Monica Svensson and Perseus Karlstrtom champions of Sweden






The initiative by Sweden was very interesting, with the National Championships taking place over two days and two different races, one short and one long.
In the location of Eskilstuna on Saturday the races took place the track events (5.000m for women and 10.000m for men), while still in Eskilstuna in the Rothoffsparken took place the long road race (10km for women and 20km For the men)

Victory to Monica Svensson (SWE) in 24:46.64.
Second place to Siw Kalstrom (SWE) in 25:41.20

10km road walk women
 
Monica Svensson (SWE) goes immediately to lead, covering the first part of the race (5km) in 25.05 and then slowing down in the second 5 km (26.05). His victory with the final time of 51:10.
Second place to Helena Sandmer (SWE) at 59:30
Third place to Celeste Sheepers (SWE) in 1:06:18
 
 
20km road walk men
 
Immediately leading the brothers Ato Ibanez (SWE) and Perseus Karlstrom (SWE) who pass together at 5km in 22:09, followed at a distance (23:14) by Anders Hansson (SWE).
 
At half way the two pass in 44.14 (for a split time in the second 5km of 22:05), while Hansson follows in 46:27.
 
In the third part of the race Ato Ibanez (SWE) forces the pace and with a time on the 5km of 21:14 passes the lead in 1:05:28. Perseus Karlstrom (SWE) is second in 1:05:45 (third 5km in 21:31). Always third Anders Hansson (SWE) in 1:09:45.
 
In the last part of the race Perseus Karlstrom (SWE) definitely increases the pace and covers the last 5 km in 21:00. For its part, Ato Ibanez (SWE) can not do better than 22:00 in the last 5km.
 
Victory then to Perseus Karlstrom (SWE) in 1:26:45
Second place to Ato Ibanez (SWE) in 1:27:28
Third place to Anders Hansson (SWE) in 1:32:35
